Jobs

It's simple. You need a job to pay the bills.

Government gets in the way

The government cannot create prosperity. You can.

That is the central lesson that our representatives in Denver need to learn. When it comes to the economy and your personal prospects for a job, the government can only get in your way.

So, the task for me as I get to work in the House will be to remove the barriers the government has put up. For example, I will endeavor to revamp our tax system so that it is understandable and fair and so that you can figure out how to comply with it quickly and easily.

Further, I will promote small business by seeking to create a one-stop-shop website where you can go to learn all you need about setting up your business. It is plain wrong that it takes a lot of very dedicated research to find out what you need to know just so you can comply with state law as you start your entrepreneurial venture.

Let's also have some regulatory sanity so that we allow energy companies to stay in business in Colorado rather than drive them elsewhere. We all care about the environment, but we also care about putting food on the table.

As District 61's Representative, I will strive to get the government out of your way so that you can prosper and enjoy this wonderful state of ours.
