A reader sent me the following missive:
Mr. Korkowski,
I am writing you in support of lifts on Snodgrass Mountain by Crested Butte Mountain Resort (CMBR). Our community needs this expansion and it is supported by a significant majority of us who live and work in the Gunnison Valley. We live in a beautiful community and the enjoyment will be increased as well as the long term economic viability by the establishment of skiing on Snodgrass Mountain. CBMR is a professional organization and will develop this area in a sustainable and environmental way so that the wildlife continues to live in parallel with increased recreational enjoyment, just as exists in today’s ski mountain.
Please work actively to support with urgency a decision that will make the most sense longterm for our beautiful valley and SUPPORT development of Snodgrass Mountain for skiing by Crested Butte Mountain Resort.

I was reading the Denver Post article about Rep Curry and wondered who she is running against. I looked at your Web-page and read your positions.
I am a Colorado native retired living in Mexico. And I vote.
Please tell me you are not dim enough to think that anyone but Hispanics are being stopped by the Ariz. Highway patrol. I lived in SE Denver for a time before I moved to Mexico. There were many illegal aliens living there: Russian, Czech, Polish and other Eastern European nationalities. Please tell me you are not so naive to think that these illegals (who are also “taking our jobs”) will be harassed if Colorado were to pass such a law.
Right now people with Arizona plates are having their cars stoned in my little Mexican Village. The Mexican people are hurt and angry. And rightly so. Racial profiling is not the American way. (OK maybe it is - my ancestors faced “No Irish need apply” signs) Is [sic] wasn’t right then and it isn’t right now. Please rethink you [sic] position.
Thank you

What is your position re the Arizona legislation concerning illegal immigration? Do you think we should have a similar law in Colorado?

I am wondering just how do you plan to change the size of govt in Colorado? I am afraid it is not as easy as it sounds. It seems you are ready to side with the “party of no” on all issues and no legislator can single handedly change the size of state govt. As you know state govt is fluid and progress (not in the political sense…), policies are built up and shaped each session. Wouldn’t it make you an “activist” if you just went in there and proposed bills that strike policies and laws that our elected reps have worked on all these years? I do understand where that scenario is applicable though. On your web page I feel like all you do is spout the same old retoric that most Republicans do using your buzz words and trendy topics of the day for your party. This I think is more suitable on the national scene where nothing is done right anyway. Give the voters some meat and potatoes about the issues you intend to address if elected to office in November. The US Constitution is not the “end all be all” at the state level as you well know.
Are you going to vote with the US Constitution, the GOP, or the people in your district? Relative to your website I can not tell.
Thank you for your time, I am a conservative independent voter and am undecided on my vote for state rep.this fall. A response would most definately help me and mine make a better decision as to who I should support on the campaign trail this summer.

Please elaborate on why the health bill is “unlawful” and against our constitution. I am neither for or against this bill but you may shed some light that could sway my opinion.
