Getting Rights Right

One line from his short speech struck me in the cortex. He said, "A right is a duty that the State owes to its citizens." I could not believe my ears.

Enforce immigration laws

A reader asks, "What is your position re the Arizona legislation concerning illegal immigration? Do you think we should have a similar law in Colorado?"

Reduce the size of government.

A reader asks: "I am wondering just how do you plan to change the size of govt in Colorado?"

What kind of Colorado do you want to live in?

Free. Fiscally sound. Prosperous.

That's the Colorado that I want to live in. Unfortunately, not everyone sees things this way:

  • The General Assembly has just seen fit to monkey around with tax increases at a time when people can least afford it.
  • Governor Ritter thought raising fees (that is, taxes) was a fine idea, again just when our pockets were already empty enough.
  • And the business climate in Colorado keeps getting worse as a direct result of government action.

But we can turn our state around. As I head to the Colorado House of Representatives, my mission will be simple in concept, difficult in execution:

  • Reduce the size and scope of the state government.
  • Promote free enterprise.

It sounds easy, doesn't it? The reality is that the fight for freedom never, ever ends. That's why I need your help. If you want a freer, more prosperous Colorado, I encourage you to make sure that you vote, volunteer, and donate.

Because with your help we can make sure that recovery begins in Colorado.
